Unboxd Privacy Policy
Effective 7 November 2026
Unboxd is a Shopify app made by Wren Commerce ("we", "us"). It helps merchants receive stock: you upload a supplier invoice or delivery note, Unboxd reads it, matches the lines to your products, and adds what arrived to your Shopify inventory. This policy explains what information the app handles when a store ("you", the merchant) installs it, why, where it is kept, and how it is deleted.
Information about your customers
Unboxd does not access, collect or store information about your store's customers. It does not request access to orders or customers. Its Shopify permissions are limited to products, inventory, locations, and inventory purchase orders, transfers and shipments.
What we collect and why
| Information | Why we use it |
|---|---|
| Your store's Shopify domain and ID, and the access token Shopify issues when you install the app | To connect to your store and keep your data separate from other stores. |
| Invoice and delivery-note files you upload (PDF or photo) | To read the lines on the invoice and to let you view the original later. |
| What the app reads from those files: supplier name and the contact details printed on the invoice, invoice number and date, line descriptions, codes, quantities, prices, taxes and totals | To match the lines to your products, check the totals and record what was received. |
| Product information read from your store (titles, SKUs, barcodes, cost per item, stock levels at the chosen location) | To match invoice lines to your products, add received stock, update cost per item if you choose, and undo those changes exactly. |
| What you teach the app: which supplier codes or descriptions belong to which of your products | So the next invoice from the same supplier matches automatically. |
| Your plan and usage: which plan you are on and how many AI invoice reads you have used | To apply plan limits and to report usage charges to Shopify, which bills you. |
We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, or share it except with the service providers listed below. The app sets no tracking or advertising cookies and uses no analytics service; it runs inside your Shopify admin and relies on Shopify's own session handling.
Reading invoices with AI
When you ask Unboxd to read an invoice, the file is sent to Anthropic's API, which reads it and returns the lines. Anthropic processes it as our service provider under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train its models on this content. Anthropic may keep API data for a short period under its own policies (for example, to detect misuse). You can always receive stock without AI by entering the lines yourself.
Service providers
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify | The platform the app runs on; billing | Global |
| Render | Hosts the app and its database | United States (Virginia) |
| Cloudflare (R2) | Stores uploaded invoice files, in a private bucket | United States (Eastern North America) |
| Anthropic | Reads uploaded invoices (AI) | United States |
Your information is therefore processed in the United States, whichever country your store is in.
How long we keep it, and deletion
- While the app is installed, we keep your receipts, invoice files and matching history so you can look back at past deliveries.
- When you uninstall, the app's access to your store ends at once and its login session for your store is deleted.
- 48 hours after uninstalling, Shopify sends us a deletion request and we delete all of your store's data: receipts and their lines, invoice files, purchase orders, suppliers and learned matches, usage records and your plan details.
- What we keep after that: a one-way fingerprint (hash) of your store's domain with counts of free and trial AI reads used and their cost to us. It doesn't contain your domain or any invoice content. We keep it so that reinstalling the app doesn't restart a free trial, and to keep our own cost records.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner by emailing support@wrencommerce.com from the store's account email.
Data you receive into your Shopify store through the app (stock levels and cost per item) is part of your Shopify store and stays there after uninstalling.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Invoice files are kept in a private, encrypted storage bucket; they are not publicly accessible and can only be read with the app's own credentials. Access to your store's Shopify data and to the file storage is limited to the app's own servers by IP allowlists, and each store's data is kept separate.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete information about you, or to object to how it is used. Email support@wrencommerce.com and we will respond within 30 days. If your store's customers or suppliers contact you about information in an invoice, we will help you answer them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and its effective date. For significant changes we will also let you know, in the app or by email, before they take effect.
